Your personal food rating app: Scan barcodes, rate out of 5, log your favourites.

To scan a food/drink (Dex item), go to the Add screen and tap Scan/Add by Barcode, then scan the item.
This will bring you to Dex item Edit Mode, where you can rate, review and check information.
You can edit product, nutritional information and preparation instructions. Once you're ready, tap the Save button to save it to your Dex.

If an item hasn't been added to the Dex database yet, then scanning will create a new entry in the global Dex; you may need to add product information.
Sometimes the barcode for the product may be linked to a different Dex item; please report it.

Scanning isn't the only way to find Dex items. You can also Search for food in the FlavDex to see all the current Dex items in the database. In the global FlavDex screen you can:

• Search any Dex item by name
• Sort items by date added, alphabetical order or product type
• Filter items by rating, brands, tags, ingredients, dietary, etc.

Home

Home screen has 3 different sections:

• Staff Recommended shows any food/drink items that have been promoted by FlavDex.
• Rate Next shows items that have recently been added to FlavDex.
• Your Recent Dex shows the last items that you rated.

Dex Screen

The Dex tab shows all your ratings. If you tap on a Dex item you will go to the page for that item, which shows a breif listing of the item. Tap "More product information" to display more detailed product information such as nutritional information, ingredients and preparation instructions.
Some fields act as tags which link this item to similar products, eg. Brands > "Lindt" will take you to a list of products filed under the Lindt brand.

At the top of a Dex item is a Bookmark icon, this will save it to your Try List Collection; you can find your Collections on the Menu screen > Collections. The button next to Bookmark is Edit. In Edit mode you can edit any part of the Dex item, such as: rating, images, product information, etc. You can also report the Dex item if something is incorrect. Once you've rated the item and finshes any edits, tap Save.

You can search, sort, and filter your Dex to find any Dex item easier.

Add

Use this page to add or find any Dex items:

• Manually add item to FlavDex - this is a fully manual way of adding a Dex item that can't be scanned or searched for.
• Browse & follow collections - discover collections created by the community/sponsored brands to add them to your profile.
• Search for food in the global FlavDex - Search/filter the global FlavDex database. If you can't find what you're looking for, tap Search on OpenFoodFacts to add items to FlavDex.
• Scan/Add by Barcode - scanning by barcode will show the entry you have rated before; if you have not rated it yetthe app will present the FlavDex item or create a new entry in the FlavDex.

Menu

Menu page gives you a list of other options that can be selected.

• Collections Shows your Collections and those which you follow - custom lists of Dex items to compare
• Places/Online - places items are purchased and websites to rate, and show Dex items from that retailer by tapping View Menu
• Dietary - dietary and lifestyle options where you can chose those applicable, this will add a small red dot to items if they are not allowed by this list
• Ingredients - specific ingredients you can rate, linked to dietary
• Brands - brands that you can rate
• Profile - Update email, username, password, privacy settings
• Friends - search and follow friends
• News - announcements will display here
• Logout
